Setting out to outdoors is always cheerful. Spending your days outside with your mates would be a great idea. But when our ‘great ideas’ for some made-up leave reasons fall down like a stack of cards, things won’t be cheerful. So here we are with some great leave reasons for some of the best long weekends of 2019. Let’s start leaves!!!
PONGAL DAYS. JAN 12TH – JAN 15TH
The first long weekend of 2019 will be for our dear Tamilian friends. Take a leave on 12th January as your cousins are coming home 😜. 13th is a Sunday. (of course, you don’t want to go office) 14th, take another leave. No need to specify the reason as it’s Pongal tomorrow. 15th will be a holiday. So here you get a 4-day long weekend. Head outside and have fun.
LET’S BE PATRIOTIC. JAN 25TH – JAN 27TH
The republic day falls on 26th of January, which will be a Saturday this year. (2019) This is the time of the year when or spirits of patriotism hits up. Take a leave on 25th as you have to go to New Delhi to witness the famous Republic Day Parade. 26th will be Republic Day & 27th will be a Sunday. So, explore the outdoors on these three days off. But don’t forget, have some pics of the republic day parade, if your boss asks.
IN MEMORY OF SHIVAJI. FEB 16TH – FEB 19TH
This one is for all the Maharashtrians out there. As Shivaji Jayanti falls on 19th of February, Tuesday, let’s have a four day long trip to the outdoors. 16th, take a leave as you are going to visit an old age home. Trust me, your boss won’t question that leave reason! 17th is Sunday. 18th you will be again on leave as you have to go shopping with your family ahead of the celebrations. 19th is Shivaji Jayanthi, which will make a 4-day long off from duty. Plan your trip and make some perfect leave letters.
MEDICAL CHECKUPS. MAR 2ND – MAR 4TH
On March 2nd, you will be on leave as you have a medical checkup. There is no better healer than nature. March 3rd is a Sunday. And March 4 is Maha Shivaratri. That will make room for a 3-day trip.
FLUSHED UP KEYS. MAR 21ST – MAR 24TH
Another possible long break coming up on March is from 21st to 24th. 21st is Holi, the festival of colours. You will require two days leave. How about flushing down your car/bike key as a leave reason! It will take at least two days to get a duplicate key. 24th is a Sunday. So altogether, you will get a 4 day off. (But seriously, don’t flush your car/bike key. Just pretend like that 😁)
SECULAR LEAVES 😇. APR 18TH – APR 21ST
The Good Friday comes on 19th of April on 2019 and the Easter on 21st. If you can take leaves on 18th and 20th, you can make out a four day off from your work. Your leave reasons could be like preparing for the holy week 😇. Even if you belong to another religious group, you can tell your boss you do follow Christianity. After all, India is a secular country, right? 😜
LEAVE ON EMERGENCY. AUG 15TH – AUG 18TH
A medical emergency could happen to you at any time. So how about taking a medical (emergency) leave on 16 & 17 August?
15th August is Independence Day and a holiday. So if you accidentally drink some vinegar mistaking it to drinking water, you can take leave for 16th and 17th of August. 18th is a Sunday, which makes out to be a 4-day trip. But, water is always better than vinegar. Just tell your boss you messed up. 😌
ONAM BREAKS. SEP 7TH – SEP 11TH
September is the season of Onam in Kerala. And this festival season comes out with the 2nd longest break in 2019. A 5-day break, starting from 7th to 11th is what we have in our plans. 11th is Onam and 10th is simply the first Onam or Muharram for others. 8th is a Sunday. So that means 3 days off from work. Now deal with 7th and 9th. On 7th Saturday, you will have an early morning appointment with a doctor, and you will be forced to make it a full day leave as you will be ‘still waiting’. On Monday, 9th, you will take leave you ate too much on Sunday & need a day off to digest it all. Well, they will understand. 😁
MASS BUNKING OF 2019 😂. OCT 2ND – OCT 8TH
Here comes the longest (and might be biggest 😜) office bunking of 2019. From October 2nd to 8th, you can have an 8 day off from your workplace. 2nd is Gandhi Jayanthi, 5th Maha Saptami, 6th Maha Ashtami and a Sunday, 7th Maha Navami and 8th Dussehra. You only need to worry about 3rd and 4th October, which are Thursday and Friday respectively. What all can be the leave reasons for a two-day break? Well, you can have a Job Interview on 4th, somewhere far, so that you have to travel one day prior. Job interviews always work…😂
JINGLE BREAKS. DEC 22ND – DEC 25TH
And now, it’s Christmas time. Christmas falls on a Wednesday this year (of course we are talking about 2019) So what we have `planned is a 4 day off, starting from 22nd to 25th. 22nd is a Sunday, so never mind. 24th is Christmas Eve. Who goes to work on a Christmas Eve 🙄. And now, 23rd Monday…hmm, better tell your boss, “I woke up in a good mood & didn’t want to ruin it. So I’m taking this day off”
YEAR ENDING LEAVES. DEC 31ST – JAN 1ST
Wow, the New Year is here… and please don’t go to the office. 31st Dec 2019 is a Tuesday & 1st January 2020 is a Wednesday. Of course, you are taking a break on the new year. Don’t worry about the leave reason, just tell it’s new year; and you are taking a break. Simple.
Taking a leave from your work is as simple as bunking your classes. And it’s not a crime to do that. We all are human beings & we do get bored in stuff we do. ( especially our work 😀) We need to take breaks. To deviate from the track and get lost in things we love. So utilise these long weekend breaks and these crazy leave reasons. And if you need some tripping ideas, locations, tips…head to campper.com. So, happy leaves…
