Make Your Camping More Easier And Fun With These Camping Hacks

Camping is the greatest way of giving yourself a break. These pesky little obstacles can easily ruin your trip. The best way to get around it is with some quick and easy camping hacks. From dealing with hard-working mosquitoes to making a great fire, we got you covered with some of the best life hacks.

Add bundles of sage to a campfire to keep mosquitoes away.

Instead of worrying with packing spray on repellent and being concerned that chemicals may be getting into your system, simply add some sage to your campfire. Sage (Hindi: Salvia, Sefakus, Malayalam: Tulsi) works as a natural deterrent to keep those pesky bugs away, and it smells nice, too.

Make a Backpack Checklist

First off, let’s check that backpack! If you’re planning to hike while you’re camping, this checklist is a must. It helps you make sure you remembered everything you could possibly need, plus it’s a great organization tool to make sure that you have room for everything you need. Just print it off and check those essentials off the list as you pack them.

Make sure you remember these points :

  • Trek lightly and make sure you don’t overpack.
  • Store high-calorie foods like cakes, pastries etc. They will act as your energy refills for the trip. Don’t forget to get protein bars too.
  • Store a raincoat at all times. You don’t know when it going to rain.
  • There are so many ways that you can save space when packing for your camping trip. Rolling shirts and stuffing them inside socks is a great way to make sure that you have plenty of room for all of your clothing.

Prevention Against Leeches

  • Although they are usually just a nuisance and don’t spread disease, you will want to avoid them. The best way is to wear leech socks. The impervious barrier formed by the tightly woven fabric is protective against leech bites. Online, you will find many suppliers offering them. Alternatively, you can make your own by spraying plenty of DEET (mosquito repellent) on to ordinary hiking socks.
  • Get yourself a small bag of raw tobacco leaves. Soak it inside the water, transfer it into a small bottle to carry around and spray on your clothes and pants. The smell of the tobacco is able to slow down the leech and ultimately intoxicate it. But it takes time, there’s no immediate effect.
  • Apply antiseptic to the skin until it has healed. Remember not to pull the leech if it is already sucking your blood, this will make you bleed even more and it is hard to stop the bleeding.

 Use Sunscreens

Thank goodness for sunscreen! Not only does sun protection protect you against a sunburn, but it also protects you from skin cancer, wrinkles, and premature skin ageing! Practice good camping safety habits and protect your skin from the sun by covering up.
Sunscreens come in different levels of protection, called SPF or sun protection factor, which is indicated as a number. The higher the SPF, the more protection your skin gets from the sun. The sunscreen will not block all of the rays your skin gets, but the way it works is for the number of SPF you put on, you can stay in the sun ten times that many minutes.
